gardening

Gardening, something I've tried to do, relatively unsuccessfully.  Mainly because I forget to water the plants.  If I don't see something I forget about it and I don't go outside a lot, its easy not to see the plants!  I feel really silly saying that, but it's the truth, so there you go!

Something I've always wanted is a vegetable patch.  I love the idea of being self sufficient or at least supplement our groceries so that we don't have to spend so much.

Recently I found a book in the library called 50 Gardening Projects for Kids by Clare Bradley and decided that surely I can follow instructions for children, so I'm giving it a go.  So far I have a couple of potatoes turning green on my kitchen window sill but no buds of leaves yet.  I'm trying, that's the main thing! 

Next step to budget for some potting mix, pots and seedlings to plant some pretty flowers or herbs or vegies. 

Circumstances have changed and we're moving to the country, so once we get our new garden I'll post pictures on here of it.
